FAIR PRACTICES ADVOCATE
The Fair Practices Advocate functions as the organizational ombudsperson for injured workers and employers who feel they have not received fair treatment by the Workers Compensation Board.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Fair Practices Advocate operates independently from the WCB's administration to investigate complaints related to unreasonable acts, omissions or decisions. When individual issues or systemic issues are identified, the Fair Practices Advocate makes recommendations to the WCB for improvement and reports all findings to the Administration and to the Board of Directors. As the ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A University degree in a related discipline
- A minimum eight years experience working with executive level management including experience in an ombudsperson and supervisory capacity
- Ability to work independently in stressful situations
- Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and maintain credibility with injured workers and employers
- Knowledge of the workers compensation system would be an asset.
