WCB Addresses Office of the Auditor General's Recommendations

The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) today presented its Action Plan in response to the recommendations in the recent report issued by the Office of the Auditor General of Manitoba (OAG).

The WCB’s action plan describes the steps being taken to respond to the OAG’s recommendations related to governance, human resources and investment matters.

“We will be diligent in addressing the OAG’s recommendations,” says WCB President and CEO Doug Sexsmith. “Though we are already a strong organization and in excellent financial condition, we are always trying to strengthen and improve our systems and processes.”

The WCB has set up an Implementation Steering Committee, chaired by WCB Internal Auditor Sandra Cohen, to address the recommendations of the OAG. This committee will report to the WCB Audit Committee and will include Sexsmith, Vice President Healthcare, Prevention and Customer Service Alice Sayant, and Vice President Finance and Administration Harold Dueck.
